The Ankh

The Ankh represents life [ immortality ] and death, male and female balance. It can also represent zest, joy of life, and energy. It's closely related to the looped cross that can mean fertility and life. Ankh. Egyptian symbol for life, as well as eternal life. When held tot he nose of a dead pharaoh the ankh ensured his everlasting existence. It is often depicted being held by many of the Egyptian Gods or on the walls of temples or tombs giving divine protection to the deceased.


The eye of Horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection, royal power and good health. The eye of Horus is similar to the eye of Ra, which belongs to a different god, Ra, but represents many of the same concepts. In fact, three different names are applied to this symbol:

The eye of Horus, the eye of ra, and the widget. These names are based on the meaning behind the symbol, specifically its design.
